Unpublished Project - Torsobus

Here's some work I did of the Torso Boss, the first boss monster we created from scratch as a part of this project. The idea was for it to be a classic upper body looming over the battlefield and clobbering you type of boss, hence the name. I soon shortened the name to Torsobus, as is my way.

The first round of sketches, retooling a few thumbnails I'd done previously for enemies. We ended up going with 2, as it fit the creepy-floating-heads-and-weird-pelvic-bone-shapes theme we had going for the enemies.

The boss design went through a lot of revisions, with different kinds of weak points. At least some of the weak points had to be on the hands, which rested in melee range on the platform between attacks.

Another idea was, instead of weak points, coat parts of it in regenerating armor that you'd have to break before doing damage.
